Q: Is The PACT BOX Waterproof?
A: The PACT BOX is water-resistant, not waterproof. The exterior is crafted from heavy-duty ballistic nylon with a water-proof barrier on the interior. The interior is water-resistant and tightly stitched to help keep moisture and water out.
Q: How do I clean my Pact Box?
A: A simple, moist cloth and a mild detergent is all you need. Although we do not like to recommend plastic bags in any way--it's smart for your health and safety to place any meats in a light, plastic bag from the produce section in your market. If any packaged meats leak in your Pact Box, it's a good idea to clean them using an antibacterial cleanser.
Q: Is the Pact Box made from 100% recycled materials?
A: The Pact Box interior lining and closure strap are made from what's commonly called "vegan leather." The material is 100% recycled polyurethane or PU. PU is a much more green product when compared to traditional PVC plastics. Greenpeace calls PVC the "single most environmentally damaging type of plastic." No PVC will ever be used an any Pact Box. The interior stiffeners are made from 100% recycled cardboard, so not a single tree was cut to produce a Pact Box. The exterior is ballistic nylon that's used for durability. It's not recycled and that was a conscious decision on our part to extend the working life of each Pact Box from months--to years. The longer it lasts, the more you use it, the greater an impact you will have on our preserving our precious environment.
Q: How much weight can a Pact Box hold?
A: Much MORE than you'd ever want to carry! We have tested our Pact Bags to 25 pounds with absolutely NO problems. Naturally, it's smart to distribute your groceries evenly--with the heaviest items directly under the carry straps. If you're regularly carrying that much weight in a Pact Box, we recommend you use TWO Pact Boxes to distribute the load on both sides of your body. Also, we made the straps extra-strong and much wider than typical bags--so you can carry large loads on your shoulder, and keep your hands free.
Q: What are the dimensions of the Pact Box--open and folded?
A: When open, the Pact Box measures 15"W x 10.5"H x 10"D . When folded, it measures 15"W x 10.5H x 7/8"D. Many people use our Pact Boxes when folded as a regular tote bag. You can even fit a 15" laptop in the Pact Box when the floor is folded up! And there's still room in the mesh, interior pockets for your cell phone, keys and wallet. It's NOT just a grocery shopping bag..it's versatile enough to use every day.
